El Camino Del Rey

Thanks to a coworker, I found this video on YouTube and thought it was interesting. I think my dad would enjoy this hike. Anyone want to go to Spain sometime?

Z's Soccer

Zander just finished his spring soccer for the year on May 12. He really enjoyed playing this year and got better with each passing week! He scored some goals (though noone was counting) and his team won some games (though noone was keeping score). He was a proud member of the Yellow Hornets. It was a great season!

New Retaining Wall

We just had a new retaining wall installed in our yard so that we could actually use the backyard for the kids playset and to just generally enjoy. It looks really great and I'm happy we did it, although I was a little nervous spending the money. Anyway, the real reason for this post is to show the photos that Zander took during the construction. Mom told him to watch them from upstairs and take some pictures for me and that is exactly what he did. Let's just say he took it a little over the edge.

Brothers?

I was just looking through some of our old photos and this is what I discovered... do these two look like brothers? I can barely tell who is who.

Zander Loves Flo-rida!

I wish I were kidding!

Jace is Mobile!

Yes, that's right, Jace started scooting/crawling about three weeks ago, just before his 7 month birthday. He is improving everyday.

Kite Flying and Trip to Portland

We recently went on a trip to Portland, Oregon, as a mini-vacation. I was there on business, attending the 2008 Conference for the United States Society on Dams, while Courtney and the kids had a chance to explore Portland.

We also had the opportunity to visit with my Aunt Marilyn, Uncle Rocky, and cousins Amy, Robin, and Kelsey (plus husbands). It was great to see them, and Zander really fell in love with Gabby, Rocky and Marilyn's granddaughter who stays with them. We had never been to the Pacific Northwest before, but we are definitely looking forward to going back again sometime in the future so we can get more time to explore and enjoy the greenness of that area of the country. Enjoy the pictures from there and also take a look at Zander having a good time flying his new kite.
